Two workers at Six Flags Fiesta Texas were severely burned on the job during an explosion that occurred in May of 2006. The workers are suing the theme park and the contractor for their failure to safeguard the men from incurring personal injury while on the job. The personal injury lawsuit claims negligence on the part of the theme park and the contractor, stating that the workers were not adequately protected from harm while performing their job.

After purchasing Guidant Corp. in April 2006 for $27 Billion, Boston Scientific Corp. has been forced to recall additional Guidant defibrillator and pacemaker models. In addition to inheriting its popular line of cardiovascular medical devices, Boston Scientific Corp. also inherited Guidant's significant liabilities related to its defective products. Devices affected by this most recent Guidant recall include Insignia and Nexus pacemakers; Ventak Prizm 2, Vitality and Vitality 2 cardioverter defibrillators; and Contak Renewal TR/TR2 cardiac resynchronization devices.

In a recent test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), most SUVs and every pickup truck tested failed to register a passing score based on passenger whiplash protection for rear-end collisions. One of the worst train accidents in the country happened in San Antonio on June 28th, 2004. A train car carrying deadly chlorine gas derailed spilling the gas and killing four people in southwest Bexar County. The former engineer, who was driving the train during the accident, is suing Union Pacific for wrongful termination.

For the second time in less than six months, Ford has had to announce a massive recall of some of their most popular pick-ups and SUV's. Ford has admitted that the leaking brake fluid is causing corrosion of the cruise control switch of its vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says they have received over 550 complaints of engine fires causing garages and homes to burn.

Fatal Crash: Texas has led the nation in the number of driving-while-intoxicated fatalities for a number of years, and San Antonio has been ranked as high as the No. 1 city for DWI fatalities. NHTSA has released its list of model year 2006 Vehicles for Crash and Rollover Testing. A total of 41 passenger cars, 21 sport utility vehicles, five vans, and 10 pickups from the model year 2006 will be subjected to frontal and side crash safety tests.

Ford Motor Company is sued again over Door Latch Defects; the lawsuit accuses Ford of making faulty door latches that, according to a published report, have figured in a number of fatalities. A Canadian law firm filed suit against Ford Tuesday on behalf of a northern Ontario resident, the Associated Press reported.
